I assume you actually want to track a shipment or a container? If so, most of the major ocean carriers offer this on their websites. You just need the container number or more importantly the Bill of Lading number to track the load.

If you use a freight forwarder, most of the larger ones also offer track and trace.

Is there any conventional / standard method to track ocean-going vessels ? i.e., similar to UPS or Fedex delivery tracking..
