CSX has made a big deal about the greenness of rail transportation for awhile now, advertising the economic value of rail vs truck transportation. BNSF has gotten into the act now with a new tool for estimating carbon savings on specific routes and rail consists. The tool they developed is a bit more sophisticated than a similar tool that CSX put out several months ago. Check the BNSF tool out here.
