Purchasing.com has an excellent article on ex patriot life and considerations for taking an international assignment. This was always something I wanted to do but timing, children and life always seemed to get in the way. If you have the opportunity, take it and give yourself and your family a view of the world that puts American life in perspective. Check it out here.

Hi Eric,
Great article. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I have a long standing goal of taking an overseas assignment in China and this article provided some excellent food for thought.

Hi Eric,
It wasn't until i had a commercial pilots license and realized there were not many jobs in New Zealand that I considered moving abroad.
Four years later I'm still flying in Africa..I guess one of these days I should trek off home as I have the hours now.
I run my blog www.africanbushpilot.blogspot.com
As well as talking about the flying I try to also try to explain and show what life as an ex-patriate in Africa is really like.
Cheers Ryan
